Gekko Global Markets Ltd. is a dedicated service provider for spread betting, CFD and FX trading. The company was founded in 2007 and has already established a presence throughout Europe.
The trading platform is provided by SYCAP Group AB which is a software development firm that specialises in online trading solutions.
SYCAP Group AB was founded in 1998 and has a long tradition of being innovative on the technology front. Its principal business is to develop and license software for both the institutional and retail financial services industry. SYCAP Group develops all its proprietary software in-house. The company takes pride in constantly improving its existing products and launching new innovations.
Meet our Management Team
John Rowe – Chief Executive Officer
John began his trading career on the floor of LIFFE exchange in 1986. He has been a profitable trader for over 20 years, as well as a highly respected mentor for training top traders. John is also a successful entrepreneur and the highlights of his owned companies portfolio include Curvalue (1998-2000), and London Capital Group (1995-2005). John is a proud father of two, and apart from being a zero-handicap golfer, he is also a keen sailor and aviator.
Stefan Willebrand – Chief Operating Officer
Stefan founded SYCAP in 1998 as a global markets trading and research firm. In 2000, based on his successful discretionary trading, Stefan started to use his computer programming background to develop proprietary trading systems. In 2001 Stefan registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in the United States and began managing customer funds totalling to over 12 million US Dollars. From 2003 to date, Stefan has educated many profitable traders with his trading algorithms and methodology. He has also been working as a freelance writer and analyst, and is frequently quoted in several most prestigious research periodicals in Sweden.
Edward Drake – Managing Director
Edward brings nearly 10 years of experience in the Spread Betting and CFD industry to Gekko Global Markets Ltd. After graduating from Durham University, Edward cut his teeth as an options and FX dealer with IG Index before moving onto Cantor Index where he was responsible for the options and financial fixed odds trading operation. Edward is an avid boxing fan and spends much of his time watching and researching the sport.
Leo Deng – Head of Marketing
Leo has 5 years of experience in the Spread Betting and CFD industry. Leo joined us from IG Group Plc where he was responsible for the company’s successful business expansion into Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Japan and China. Leo is 31 years old and his hobbies include reading, watercolouring, chess, mountain climbing and Tai-chi.
Jordan Hiscott – Senior Trader
Jordan has over 12 years experience in the financial markets. He started out his career on the LIFFE floor as a runner and then as a fully qualified pit trader, progressing onto screen trading. Jordan is 28 years old, enjoys many outdoor activities, particularly running 10k, and plays regularly for his local basketball team.
Katherine Alden – Head of Customer Services
Kath has over 10 years of experience in the Spread Betting and CFD industry. After completing her degree in Philosophy at Hull University, Kath joined IG Index’s customer services & credit desk as a graduate in 1998. In 2000 she joined Cantor Index, and during the following 8 years she was responsible for customer services and trade support functions. Outside work Kath enjoys cooking and good times spent with friends and family.
